Indoor Residual Spray round one completed.
As per routine vector control activities in Mandla district, the 45-day round one of Indoor Residual Spray was done in 18 selected villages. MEDP performed supportive supervision of the spray teams and also filled the IRS monitoring checklists in each village. Preliminary results show significant improvement as compared to last year’s spray operations. Detailed analysis is in progress.

From July 26 to 31, ICMR NIRTH conducted its quarterly entomological investigation in Mandla district. The team studied the quality of Indoor Residual Spray, performed night collections, resting mosquito collections, cone bioassays, insecticide susceptibility tests etc. in the target villages.

Mid-year refresher trainings.
From July 4 to 9 2019, MEDP conducted mid-year refresher trainings for the entire field staff of the project including 235 Village Malaria Workers and 25 Malaria Field Coordinators. The training included refreshers on all operational components of the project including disease surveillance and case management, vector control, capacity building, and IEC/BCC. Pre and post training tests were administered to all the candidates.
