On January 22, 2020, MEDP sent four of its field and office staff for a one-day refresher training on staining and fixing of blood slides at ICMR NIRTH, Jabalpur (Figure 2). MEDP regularly collects blood slides and filter paper samples for every tenth febrile case and for every malaria positive case. Samples are also collected for the entire population screened as part of Mass Screening and Treatment (MSAT).

MEDP participated in the pulse-polio immunization drive by Government of Madhya Pradesh in Mandla.
This month MEDP's Village Malaria Workers helped the Government of MP in achieving total coverage during the periodic pulse-polio immunization campaign in Mandla. MEDP has been helping the government in their various public health initiatives such pulse-polio, dengue drives, rotary camps, etc. since its inception in 2017.

This month, MEDP planned and completed the data collection for the post-distribution usage survey of LLINs distributed in 2019 by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. The survey was conducted in a randomly selected sample of 2000 households consisting of around 5000 LLINs. The checklist included inspection of the condition of the LLINs, user habits and perceptions, information about side-effects, availability of nets, etc. The data is under analysis and will be published as part of the MEDP research paper on vector control.
