ASHA needs-assessment report submitted to GoMP
A study titled “Assessment of ASHA for knowledge, diagnosis and treatment on malaria in Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh” was completed by MEDP. This was undertaken as a part of our commitment to the state of Madhya Pradesh. On April 30th, 2018; the report was officially submitted to the state with recommendations. We concluded that there is strong need for fresh training on RDTs and treatment regimen for Pv and Pf. We propose to conduct group and/or one-on-one training as we visit the villages. It is also suggested that similar study may be undertaken in other districts of MP, so that training and capacity needs for ASHAs can be determined. Since ASHAs are situated and live in their respective villages, they will make excellent champions, lead workers and communicating operators for malaria elimination.
