Training of Trainers (ToT) for IEC/BCC
Information, Education and Communication with Behavior Change Communication is an integral part of the project. A two-day training session for the Malaria Field Coordinators (MFCs) was conducted on 9th and 10th November, 2017 at Satkar Celebrations, Mandla. These trainers were trained by experts from ICMR-NIRTH: Dr. Kalyan B. Saha – Scientist E, Dr. Ravendra Sharma – Scientist D, Dr. A Verma – STO and Mrs. Sulochana Rajak – Deputy Media Incharge from the office of CMHO, Government of MP. The training included basics of IEC/BCC, tools of communication, techniques of IEC/BCC followed by a live demonstration by a group of performers from Dindori, Mandla. This group was earlier trained by NIRTH scientists and worked on an IEC based study on Malaria in Dindori. On the second day, the participants also prepared and demonstrated the taught techniques in forms of slogans, skits and ventriloquism using hand puppets. These trainers then drafted a schedule to train their Village Malaria Workers (VMWs) to conduct the two initial activities– Haat Bazaars and School Camps in their respective sub-center areas.
