Training of Village Malaria Workers (VMWs) in Information Education Communication (IEC) and Behavior Change Communication (BCC)
In the month of November 2017 – a Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop was conducted by experts from ICMR NIRTH: Dr. Kalyan B. Saha – Scientist E, Dr. Ravendra Sharma – Scientist D, Dr. A Verma – STO and Mrs. Sulochana Rajak – Deputy Media Incharge from the office of CMHO, Government of MP and MEDP Staff.
In this training, Capacity Building Officer (CBO) of MEDP was trained as a Master Trainer and all 25 Malaria Field Coordinators (MFCs) were trained as Trainers for the Village Malaria Workers (VMWs). During this month, training sessions were conducted for all the VMWs by the MFCs under direct supervision of the CBO . Few sessions were also monitored by the Program Officer and District Officer (MEDP) and attended by the District Malaria Officer, Consultant Entomology (RHOFW) and Consultant VBD from GoMP .
Total 205 VMWs from 8 blocks have been trained, only one block (Ghughari) is remaining with its 23 VMWs and is scheduled for this month. Alongside, material is under development and field deployment of IEC-BCC activities will begin soon.
