Mid-year review of MEDP concluded at IIC, New Delhi
On December 31 2019, MEDP has its mid-year review meeting at the Indian International Centre, New Delhi (Figure 4). The review was attended by the following participants: I. Director, NVBDCP New Delhi V. Dr Ashwani Kumar, Director, VCRC Puducherry VI. Dr Manju Rahi, Scientist F, ICMR HQs New Delhi VII. Dr Anup Anvikar, Scientist F, ICMR NIMR New Delhi VIII. Dr Abhinav Sinha, Scientist E, ICMR NIMR New Delhi IX. Dr Praveen Bharti, Scientist E, ICMR NIRTH Jabalpur X. Dr Satyendra Pandey, Consultant Entomologist, DHS Bhopal (nominated by Dr Himanshu Jayswar SPO DHS Bhopal) XI. Mr Ramji Balavi, DMO Balaghat XII. Dr Harsh Rajvanshi, Program Officer, MEDP Mandla XIII. Mr Sekh Nisar, District Officer, MEDP Mandla Key action points were discussed and identified as follows: I. Fourth Malaria Elimination Advisory Group meeting in April 2020 – Dr Amit Sharma kindly accepted request for hosting this meeting at NIMR similar to last year. II. Hemex at MEDP Mandla – Drs. Lal, Anvikar, and Bharti to facilitate introduction of ‘Hemex’ device in Mandla. Preferably, this should be tested in small geographical area for efficacy, cost-benefit analysis etc. before escalating to pan-district. III. Improvement in district level coordination – Dr Satyendra Pandey assured support in improving coordinating with the state government at district level. IV. Mass Drug Administration – Further discussions at the upcoming MEAG meeting to lay down the groundwork for MSAT followed by MDA in Mandla or neighbouring districts.
